Pitlochry event takes on the ‘big guns’

Pitlochry’s premier music festival will battle it out with illustrious names such as Belladrum and TRNSMT to be crowned Scotland’s Festival of the Year.

In what is a major honour for the Perthshire event, which only started in 2024, Heartland Festival has been named on the shortlist at the 2025 Scottish Live Music Awards.

On March 5th in Glasgow, the trio behind the event – and Perth’s new Festival, Replay – will find it out if they have done enough to win the nation’s top prize.

Also on the shortlist are Edgefest, MacMoray and Tiree Music Festival.

‘Amazing reward’

Sales and Marketing Director, Simon Clark, said: “To say we were over the moon is an understatement. I was laying on the bed trying to get my daughter off to sleep on Friday night and I could hear my phone in the other room pinging away with notifications and some WhatsApp messages coming through.

“When I checked, I was delighted to see we’d been shortlisted.

“From the very start, our goal was to create an event that everyone loved and kept talking about. Launching and growing a festival is hard work and just being shortlisted is an amazing reward. We couldn’t have done without the amazing support from our followers. Fingers crossed for the awards ceremony in March.”

Meanwhile, the Shuttle bus service for this year’s Event is proving popular with some of the routes now sold out.

The buses will run from Pitlochry and Aberfeldy and Grandtully campsites and Blair Castle and Faskally campsites.
