5 December 2025
It’s only a week until Perthshire’s premier Auction.
On Saturday 13th December, starting at 10am, the lots in the Perth Silent Auction will go under the hammer over the course of the day.
Three excellent charities, ANDYMANSCLUB, Beautiful Perth and Cornhill Macmillan Palliative Care Unit at Perth Royal Infirmary are set to benefit.
Here, PBN puts 10 LOTS under the microscope. There are things to suit all budgets, from activities and entertainment to weekend breaks. Enjoy award-winning restaurants to golf for four at St Andrews.
You can also bid on ALL the lots by visiting: www.perthsilentauction.co.uk/auction/

1/ Take a look at Lot 9. The Tay is one of Scotland’s big 5 salmon rivers and a jewel in the crown. Perth and District Anglers Association has donated twos rods on the Upper Delvine beat between the traditional start of the salmon season in January to June. You can spin or fly fish and you will be guided by a ghillie, giving that personal touch.
The lot is worth £200 but with £120 being the top bid so far, you’ve a realistic chance of nipping in there. Don’t hang about.

2/ Lot 20 offers a Lake District break for two donated by Strathmore Hotels Ltd of Salutation Hotel fame. Who doesn’t love a trip to the lakes, with a bit of luxury thrown in?
The 2 night bed and breakfast deal, in a Superior Room at the Cumbria Grand Hotel, will always go down well and, with the highest bid sitting at £220 for a LOT worth £300, fortune could favour the brave.

3/ Those good people at Sidey have donated golf for 4 at the Fairmount, St. Andrews- the home of golf. Lot 62 features the choice of either the Kittocks or Torrance courses and, naturally given the prestige and heritage, carries a high value of £600.
Providing you can use this by 30th June, this LOT is looking like one of the steals of the Auction. The current highest bid is £170. Ssshhh! It could be you!

4/ At PBN, we know the interest generated by the first Scone Palace International Horse Trials this year, at its new home, because we told you all about it.
This great LOT, donated by the Event team, offers the winning bidder 4 adult tickets for the entire weekend of the 2026 event (27th to 30th August). Last year 27 500 people took in the equestrian showcase. You could be amongst them for a great price, if you bid smartly. This prize is worth £440 but, whisper it, the current highest bid- for now- is £180. There may be a bargain and a memorable weekend to be had with Lot 21.
5/ If you are in need of a bit of personal grooming ahead of the festive party season, Lot 74 might will entice. Stephen McCartney has donated a makeover by The Cutting Room Hair and Beauty.
This is not just a standard makeover. It includes an in-depth consultation, cut and blow dry and colour of your choice. While your colour is developing, you’ll be treated to a salt and oil hand scrub and moisturising, complete with cooling eye patches. What’s not to like? Worth £160, the highest bid is sitting at £70. Do your thing.
6/ Not all LOTS are created equal. This one’s a bit different but certainly caught the eye. Lot 98 brings an assembled 3-piece Nairn White bedroom set worth £440, donated by Core Products. Currently sitting at £140, there’s a bargain to be had, in anyone’s books.
Take a look and ready your bidding finger
7/ At this time of year, many will be looking at the branches over-hanging the shed and thinking: I need a professional. If that’s you, Lot 261 deserves a look. Newtyle-based Murdoch Wood Ltd has donated Professional tree Services.
The voucher, worth £250, must be used within 1 year but entitles you to work by a fully insured and qualified company providing ground and aerial tree services. This is currently sitting with a highest bid of £90. If someone gets it for that, they’re smart and we all need to look at ourselves!
8/ On the same practical theme but no less super handy, the Binn Group has donated an 8 Cubic Yard Skip for hire. This is worth £300 but bids are sitting at £100 just now. It’s a great opportunity if clearing out or moving but there are some conditions. You can’t be filling it with hazardous materials and you must be within a 20 mile radius of Perth. If you meet that, Lot 258 could be a snip.
9/ Cake. We thought long and hard but we couldn’t get past Cake. Lot 243 is well worth a look, especially if you’ve got a Xmas or birthday party coming up.
Springfield Properties has donated a cake and party platter by Bertha Park-based, Starfish Cakes and Bakes.
This includes a sandwich party platter for up to 20 people and a special celebration cake. The Voucher is worth £200 but it’s currently sitting at £80. Go on, bid if you want to, but just know you might be bidding against us – lol (editor).

10/ Finally, Lot 155: A Two-night stay at Balquhidder Braes Holiday Park in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, donated by the holiday park themselves.
This is a cabin – and hot tub, so it is perfect for cool winter nights but also lazy summer days. Worth £550, you can use this privilege right up until next November.
The bidding currently sits at £260 so get moving! Full details here
