Ambitious triple appointment in its 75th year

Pitlochry Festival Theatre has made another ambitious appointment in its 75th year with Lorna Jack being appointed as Chair of its Board of Trustees.

The highly experienced chartered accountant with significant organisational finance experience will begin next month, replacing the outgoing Crawford Ghillies who is stepping down after 8 years.

The appointment comes as Scotland’s ‘Theatre in the Hills’ reaps the benefits and global profile brought by Artistic Director Alan Cumming’s first full season, see:.

High profile roles

Lorna Jack has enjoyed numerous senior roles in her career including 13 years as Chief Executive of the Law Society and senior non-executive Board positions with Scottish Funding Council and Highlands and Islands Airports.

She has promised to bring her experience and enthusiasm to help guide ‘one of Scotland’s most dynamic cultural institutions into an exciting new chapter.’

“This remarkable organisation has always held a special place in Scotland’s cultural landscape, and I’m honoured to support its continued growth and national and international ambition,” she said.

“I’m excited to work alongside my fellow trustees, the executive team, Alan Cumming as Artistic Director, and Pitlochry’s many and varied supporters to help shape the next chapter of this vibrant and much-loved organisation. There will be many challenges ahead in realising our collective ambition and I look forward to playing my part in that.”

Also joining the Board will be Diane Benjamin and Professor Dorothy Miell.

The former is a founding member of Sonia Friedman Productions while the latter is Chair of the Board of Governors at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
