February date for Government-funded event

A Government-funded tour designed to build the biggest digital network of women business people is to visit Perthshire this month (February).

egg’s Women on Top Scotland Tour, which has been backed by Scottish Government Ecosystem Funding, will visit Perth on Tuesday 17th February (10am to midday), with free childcare on-site.

Developing a business around the demands of childcare is one of the biggest barriers preventing women from attending business events and investing in their own growth.

This event, at Perth Theatre, removes that obstacle and women at all stages of business and career will be represented.

Removing obstacles

The Government funding for the Tour, which also takes In Dundee and Aberdeen, is to support the strengthening of Scotland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and remove barriers for underrepresented founders.

egg’s objective is to connect women across Scotland and build a digital network, ensuring that access to opportunity and support is not limited be geography, income or life stage.

While woman make up a significant percentage of Scotland’s entrepreneurial talent, women-led businesses face challenges such as funding, reduced visibility and exclusion from traditional networks.

As well as bringing woman founders together at these inspiring events, egg offers year-round digital support through its Business Club, which includes mentoring and expert led content.

Founder Kylie Reid said: “If we’re serious about supporting women in business, we have to be honest about the barriers they face. Childcare, confidence, access to networks – these are not side issues, they are fundamental.

“We’re designing support that actually works for women’s lives – connecting them across Scotland and giving them access to opportunity, without asking them to choose between ambition and care.”

PBN business to co-host

Co-hosting the Perth event is Olivia McCann, founder of Olivia McCann Media, a PBN ‘Business to Watch’, see here.

The Perth-based marketing business supports small businesses and founders and Olivia will support the delivery of the Women on Top event. If you wish to attend, go to: www.weareegg.co.uk/events

Every ticket includes tea, coffee and pastries as well as a 12-month membership to The Lounge – egg’s digital hub of resources, workshops and networking support.
