An award-winning independent luxury kitchen firm has opened a Kinross base as part of a wider business expansion following a management buy-out.
Kitchens International, whose kitchens and living space innovations have featured on Channel 4’s Grand Designs, opened an appointment-only studio at Orwell Farm, between Kinross, Milnathort and Loch Leven’s Larder, at the start of October.
After relocating from Sterling Home in Tillicoultry, Kitchens International now plans to open new premises in Edinburgh’s Morningside and Glasgow’s West End.
They currently operate their flagship studio on the capital’s Dundas Street.
Graham Johnston, Owner and CEO and Carol Cameron, Head of DesignThe move into Kinross-shire builds on an existing volume of local custom and will enable clients to enjoy one-to-one consultations with dedicated designers.
MasterChef finalist and Kinross local, Sarah Rankin, opened the new studio with a cookery masterclass and Orwell Farm provides the company with an elegant space, within sight of Loch Leven, to show off kitchens from brands including Gaggenau, Siemens, Leicht, Poggenpohl and Cosentino.
Graham Johnston, Owner and CEO of Kitchens International, said:
"The Orwell Farm studio represents our ambition to expand Kitchens International's presence across Scotland whilst showcasing the quality of engagement our customers expect. We already serve a substantial client base across the Perth and Kinross region, and this stunning location will help deepen those relationships.
“The appointment-only model allows us to provide the focused, detailed consultation our clients' projects require. The studio's design draws inspiration from its breathtaking setting: the colours and character of Loch Leven, the contours and curves of the historic steading building, and the surrounding natural landscape.
“That sense of place runs through every detail of the space, creating an environment where clients can really connect with how design shapes the way they live and cook.”

Orwell Farm, itself, has undergone a transformation in recent times.
Formerly a collection of derelict agricultural buildings, the rural business hub was the vision of Studio LBA Managing Directors, Jeff Manson and Lynsay Bell.
The award-winning architectural firm is based there alongside a nursery school and a film company as well as Pilates, conservation and furniture businesses.
