Heartland Festival’s last Pitlochry hurrah

2 July 2026

Our ticket winners share their memories

By now, those who attended the final Heartland Festival at Pitlochry’s Recreation Ground, will be beginning to recover from a family-friendly weekend of music and mirth.

However, we are delighted to bring you first-hand recollections from the winners of our Ticket Give-Away, in conjunction with the wonderful Heartland Festival team.

Next year, the festival moves to its new Ballinluig home, with new camping options, and early bird tickets are now on sale and selling fast, at reduced prices.

For now, enjoy the memories of a great weekend. Thank you to everyone who took part in our first ever Give-Away, which was a taste of all the great things Perthshire businesses have to offer (…there’s more Give-Aways to come).

This from Kevi, who attended on Saturday and Sunday, with the blessing of ticket winner Anne Richmond, meeting up with Edinburgh pals.

“We really enjoyed the lovely vibes, it felt safe, friendly, and fun!

Numerous fabulous food trucks. We enjoyed the various bars and cocktail trucks on Saturday and great coffees and juices on Sunday as we were all driving.

The music was great, we danced away Saturday afternoon into the evening to Sandi Thom, who was brilliant alongside her amazing guitarist.

StarSailor were also a delight, creating such great vibes amongst the crowd at the main stage. We were enticed back to the stage by Torridon who were just wonderful, so full of fun, excellent banter as well as beautiful bagpipe playing!

The music was good, food great, lovely setting and Pitlochry was very welcoming.

The kids in our company also had a blast and we all enjoyed watching all the gorgeous dogs! .......so it was a 10/10 for us! Thank you, Anne.”

Winner Una Paterson, from Midlothian, said: “It was great. I just wish we could have done the full weekend but couldn't manage accommodation.

“It’s a fantastic festival. We loved The Laurettes, so lively and talented - I have now bought their album! My daughter wanted to be right down the front for Sandi Thom who was also fantastic! You have inspired us to go to other festivals and to come back next year!

It was also great to see gluten free options from Tasty Treats by Claire.

It was an awesome atmosphere!”
