Athletes can book now for key events

Entries are now open for the 2026 Pitlochry Highland Games which is tipped to attract around 5000 spectators this Autumn.

A key event in the local calendar, the games at Pitlochry were one of the first to be re-established in Scotland, way back in 1852.

This year’s showcase will take place on Saturday 12th September at the Recreation Ground and those wishing to take part in the Heavy events, solo piping, pipe bands, track and field and Tug of War can do so now by visiting: www.pitlochryhighlandgames.co.uk/entry-forms/

Modern and Traditional

Gates will open at 9.30am with the events starting at 10.15am.

Throughout the day there will be track and field, highland dancing, piping and the popular ‘Heavies’ which include the traditional tossing of the caber.

There will be a Pipe Band parade down Pitlochry’s Atholl Road from 11.30am with the Pipe Band competition beginning at 1pm.

Organisers are advising attendees to respect parking restrictions in the town and to check the website for official parking arrangements.
