A global Menopause awareness movement with formative roots in Perth has announced 3 upcoming dates in the region for 2026.
Menopause Café, a social innovation founded in the Fair City in 2017 by Rachel Weiss, is now a worldwide not-for-profit charity which seeks to raise awareness of, and break the stigma around, menopause.
Open to all ages and genders, the free events (aided by tea and cake), enable attendees to discuss their own experiences, helping to build community and togetherness.
First Minister John Swinney meets Menopause Cafe attendeesFounder Weiss has stated she hopes one day there is no need for such discussion events because it will mean menopause has become normal.
Until then, the movement continues to spread its wings and influence and there are 3 discussion events coming up in Perth in 2026, with the first on the evening of Holyrood Election Day, May 7th.
The Menopause Café at Blend Coffee Lounge is from 6-7.30pm and can be booked on Eventbrite.
There are further dates pencilled in, on 8th Sept and 3rd December.

“The Menopause Cafe is for everyone who wants to talk about menopause – to share their stories, experiences and questions – all made that little bit easier with tea and cake.
“Unfortunately, many people feel they should just ‘get on with’ the menopause, with some never talking to friends or family about it.
“People can come along simply to listen or to join in the discussions, hopefully leaving with a clearer sense of the impact menopause can have on those experiencing it, as well as on their families, friends and colleagues,” said Founder, Weiss.
Founder Rachel WeissThe Perth event is being organised by Heather Borderie, at Blend Coffee Lounge.
Heather said: “Menopause Cafe Perth is the home of the Menopause Cafe charity, and this spring gathering feels like a perfect opportunity to come together, reflect, share and support one another.
“Whether you’re experiencing menopause, supporting someone who is, or simply curious to learn more, everyone is welcome. Expect friendly faces, open conversation and even a few laughs – along with good tea, coffee and cake.”
The Menopause Cafe is FREE to attend and open to all – refreshments available to purchase.
