Algo were behind the House of Bruar warehousing seen from the A9Businesses in the Blair Atholl area could soon benefit from much-needed new commercial space with renowned Perth-based firm Algo to build 2 new industrial units.
The construction company, behind some landmark Perthshire projects such as Aberargie Distillery and additional warehousing for House of Bruar at Ballinluig, has submitted a revised application to planners.
Originally submitted and approved during the pandemic, the plan revises certain layouts of the original proposal sited on land owned by the company at Sawmill Yard.
Aberargie Distillery - an Algo project.Sawmill Yard is already zoned by the Cairngorms National Park for employment uses and contains local businesses such as Wasted Degrees, which makes its award-winning beer at the location.
The 2 new industrial units, with Ocean blue roofs, will be constructed on the footprint of a former building on vacant industrial land and will contain an internal mezzanine.
If approved, the Class 4,5 and 6 units, will provide more options for SMEs in the Blair Atholl area, contributing to economic development.

Algo was established in the 1980s and has developed a strong reputation within the Scottish construction sector.
It has created building solutions for industrial, commercial and agriculture sectors as well as branching out into whisky distilleries and warehousing as well as leisure and educational spaces.
Other Perthshire projects include Blairgowrie Golf Club’s Driving Range, Perthshire Caravans’ base near Errol and Active Kids in Stanley.
