Clark Contracts has promised the people of Pitlochry will see a ‘high quality’ build when the long-awaited new £8.75m Tesco opens this year.
The firm, with bases in Paisley and Edinburgh, are delivering the construction and fit-out work at the 27 000 sq ft site by the Bridge Road junction for West Ranga Property Group, which has bases in Dundee, Glasgow and York.
Tesco will then rent out the pre-let site for an annual rental approaching £500 000, for 20 years.

Clark Contracts handle around £130m of building projects annually and are specialists in full construction projects and fit outs as well as building conservation projects and housing.
Their portfolio includes Huxley Studios, a new 102-bedroom student accommodation in Edinburgh, the 208-bedroom Moxy Hotel in Southampton and Mercedes-Benz, Eurocentral.
Michael Scanlan, Director, Clark Contracts, said: “Our team is looking forward to collaborating with West Ranga Property Group, the design team and our supply chain partners to ensure the successful delivery of a high-quality retail development that will serve the local community for years to come.”

West Ranga group officials praised the Clark Contracts team for their work in developing sites with logistical challenges.
For years, the current construction site, which adjoins the Recreation ground, has been used as a parking area for community activities and, recently, the Heartland Festival.
Talking about the Pitlochry development, Jamie Parratt, MD, West Ranga Property Group, said: “We are delighted to be working with Clark Contracts to jointly deliver a best-in-class retail development providing much needed retail amenity to the residents of Pitlochry and it’s surrounds.
“The project represents our second development for Tesco with Clark Contracts’ extensive retail development experience and proactive approach to technically challenging site-specific factors key to the appointment.”
West Ranga are also behind the delivery of the project which could see the Isle of Skye welcoming its first Tesco, in Portree, which is predicted to create around 100 full and part-time jobs.
The proposal has been subject to a public consultation recently, with plans to open in 2027, if the process runs smoothly.
