Stornoway’s finest land a Heartland Festival headline slot

Award winning Lewis trio Peat & Diesel will headline Sunday night of Heartland Festival 2026, in a major coup for the growing Perthshire event.

Peat and Diesel, from Stornoway, have become a phenomenon in the Scottish music scene, with their raucous blend of storytelling, humour and high-energy trad rock.

Album and song names such as ‘Light my byre’ reflect the band’s unique and comedic musical take on Western Isles life and they have enjoyed sell-out gigs at the Barrowlands as well as wowing 4500 fans at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena earlier in 2025.

The addition of the trio to the weekend line-up, on Sunday 28th June, is sure to lure adoring and new fans, with 8000 people attending the Pitlochry festival of music in 2025.

The band are recording their 3rd album and are expected to pepper their set with new tracks and crowd-swaying favourites.

On #Peatlemania heading to Pitlochry, Festival Promoter, Graham Howie, said:

“Almost everyone has requested Peat & Diesel to come and play at the Heartland Festival and we are very confident this announcement will be well received.

“They are very much in demand and we’re delighted to have them join us for what is shaping up to be an amazing weekend of live music.”
